Various genres were represented, so concert goers got their musical fix from everything from reggae to funk to progressive rock – musical taste buds had its fair share of variety.

Reggae group Rebelution doesn’t fit the typical Reggae image, but that didn’t halt its tremendous statewide growth and fan base. Wes and Eric fuses jazz, blues and hip hop into and eclectic mix of savory sounds.

Making futuristic songs that robots would fancy, Zoogma “combines elements of a live rock band with elements of the EDM world”, describes the passionate progressive rock touring band. The crowd rocking band wowed concert goers with heavy weight, beat driven sounds for a performance to remember!

80’s Funk and futuristic Pop music was well represented in the Urban Access TV Media Lounge by Cherub and Gemini Club. Jason and Jordan, the quirky duo of Cherub describes their music as when a bit of drugs, sex and love collide! They unapologetically explore humorous concepts in their music and videos, easily separating them from other bands. Making “melodies without words”, the 4 piece Indie-Electronica band Gemini Club, creates the perfect balance between Electronic music, drums and guitar.

Urban Access TV’s Media Lounge had something in store for Hip Hop heads, too! Shaffer, local Chicago rapper signed to Lawless Inc. alongside King Louie, humbly describes his style of music as “fresh, new and the best of both worlds.” His convictions in his music, openness and exposure of his own everyday struggles distinguishes him from over exposed cliché` music.

Thibault and The Heard both made appearances in Urban Access’s Media Lounge. Thibault, pronounced TEE-BOW, a DJ from New York, loves performing in Chicago! Describing the crowd as “bonkers”, his Electro-house set failed to lack an ounce of energy, making him “feel like a local”, says Thibault. Chicago based Funk band The Heard creates a musical showdown between Soul and heavy Funk. This six part band has also performed their instrumental melodies in some of the most envied and respected venues across the nation.

The Madd Wikkid Brassft Punk is a trained pianist with a host of musical skills and talents. The technically inclined New Orleans native and naturally musically talented “takes death punk songs and makes them into brass band music.”

Urban Access TV’s Media Lounge was nothing short of entertaining with the North Coast’s Festival hottest performers! Your access… has been granted.
